LATEST CMP SALES NEWS - 23 MAR
2007.
M1 CARBINE SALES. We have started the inspection of the M1
Carbines that were recently transferred to the CMP. Because the
carbines were received with the bolts removed and many are in
heavy preservative, the process is taking longer than expected.
We will begin accepting carbine orders for Inland carbines on 30
April, 2007. The Inland carbines are priced at $495 each. Carbine
orders received prior to 30 April will be returned to the sender.
Other manufacturers will not be available until later in the
year.
We are not accepting orders or establishing waiting lists at this
time.
Please see http://www.odcmp.com/rifles/carbine.htm. We will post new information as it
becomes available.
CARBINE AMMO. At this time CMP does not have any carbine ammo for
sale. If we are successful in acquiring some, we will post the
information on our website and also include it in a CMP Sales
Update.
RIFLE BACKORDERS. We have placed a priority on working those
rifles needed to fill open backorders and expect to have
most of all backorders for rifles filled by 30 April. We
will contact customers and offer them the opportunity to change
orders if we find that there is no reasonable expectation of
fill.
KRAGS. The CMP did receive approximately 500 KRAG rifles. All of
these were veterans returns and many were nothing more than
barreled receivers in poor condition. Because of other
priorities, we crated up these rifles and plan on working them in
2008 or 2009.
CARBINES AT EASTERN GAMES. We do plan on bringing carbines to the
Eastern Games. Customers will be allowed to tag and reserve
specific carbines for mail order purchase.

CMP "USGI" GARAND RIFLES. The CMP has been notified
that any M1 Garand rifles still in depot storage will not be
transferred to the CMP, but will be retained in support of
veterans' organizations. We had expected to receive some of these
Garands for use in filling the backlog of "USGI"
orders. Any future transfers of M1 Garands to the CMP will be MAP
returns and will not meet our current definition of
"USGI". As a result, over the next few weeks our
staff will be contacting everyone who has an existing order for a
"USGI" Garand to find out if the customers would like
to change the order to an option currently in stock or cancel the
order altogether.
.22LR, M1903 and M1903A3 BACKORDERS. Many of the .22LR and M1903
and M1903A3 that were available for purchase in January have been
posted as sold out or removed from our website entirely. In
addition to accepting orders for the quantities we had ready for
shipment, we also established a backorder list for those
quantities we felt we would be able to fill over the next 90-180
days, based on expected additional transfers from the Army. We do
expect to fill all backorders for these items. If we find that we
cannot fill those orders, we will contact the customers and let
them know. New orders being received for the sold out models are
not being accepted and customers are being notified.
EMAILS TO CMP. To improve response time for emails being sent to

NIW M1 Garands and also one single NIW M1 Garand. To see current
auctions, please see http://auction.odcmp.com
M1903 AND M1903A3 RIFLES NOW AVAILABLE - QUANTITIES LIMITED. The
CMP now has available for purchase
approximately 2,000 M1903 rifles and approximately 1,200
M1903A3 rifles. These rifles are all returns from veterans
organizations. All rifles are complete and fully functional.
Appearance and overall condition is good to very good, except for
the barrels. These rifles have been used for ceremonial purposes
for decades and probably have fired thousands of blanks. Bores
will be dark with little or no rifling. Wood is sound, but may
have some minor cracks, dents, and gouges. We expect that after
this current inventory is sold, the CMP will not offer any M1903
or M1903A3 rifles for sale until 2009 at the earliest. For more
information please see http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/m1903.htm.

may be sooner. More information will be posted on http://www.odcmp.com/rifles/carbine.htm as it becomes available. At this time
no decisions have been made as to grading, pricing, or limits. We
are not accepting orders or establishing waiting lists at this
time.
KIMBER GOVERNMENT MODEL 82
"USED RIFLES" AVAILABLE. This year the Army transferred
to the CMP a few hundred used Kimber Model 82 rifles. These
rifles were turned in by JROTC units and are an excellent source
for parts. These are the same match rifles that we have been
selling new-in-the-box except that these are used and are sold
without sights. The receiver is grooved for scope rings
(3/8") which will make mounting a scope very easy. Each rifle
is otherwise complete and functional with the front
sight base but may be missing the intermediate bases, front sling
swivel and/or the butt plate spacers. Overall grade is good to
